Covid

Policy

Nothing is more important to us at the Kaw River Roots Festival than the health and safety of the Lawrence community, our attendees, artists, and staff. Of course, we are concerned about the rising number of Covid-19 cases/hospitalizations and the impact that could have on those who attend this event, plus the community at large. We have been discussing possible mitigation solutions with the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department. As well as listening to concerns of ticket holders and artists.

We know that there are no perfect solutions here to make everyone happy. Nevertheless, we feel obligated to institute measures to increase the safety of this event. While also acknowledging that every event contains inherent risks, and those attending must assume the risk of possible exposure to Covid-19.

After careful consideration we have decided to institute the following requirements of all attendees ages 12 and over:

Provide a Negative Covid Test Result (Antigen or PCR) received within 72 hours of arrival of the festival.
Or
Provide Proof of Full Vaccination (14 days after final immunization)

A copy of results via paper or digital verification of a negative test (within 72 hours) or vaccination that matches your ID card will suffice.

There will also be covid rapid testing available on site at the event. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please plan on arriving early to allow for the test (which takes approxitmately15 minutes to complete).

Mask wearing is encouraged indoors, especially N95 or kN95 masks.

Vaccinated individuals are also encouraged to get tested before or at the festival.

If you, or anyone in your party feels sick before or during the event, please stay home.

We also recommend all attendees get tested approximately 5 days after the festival to help protect their communities.

*In the event of a positive test result in the pre-festival testing window you may request that your tickets are rolled over to the 2022 Kaw River Roots Festival.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your ability to comply with this policy, please contact us directly at kawriverroots@gmail.com

We ask that you please show empathy and respect to each other and their personal decisions regarding masking, vaccination, and social distancing.

Thank you for helping us all work together to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for the inaugural Kaw River Roots Festival. We can’t wait to see you
soon!
